Pro-Palestinian student groups at UW-Madison have announced plans for further demonstrations this week.
Students for Justice in Palestine, Young Democratic Socialists of America at UW-Madison, and the UWM Popular University for Palestine declared their intention to march during the UW Regents meeting scheduled for Thursday (December 5th).
The groups aim to protest the university’s connections to Israel, accusing it of being complicit in “genocide and war profiteering.”
Their primary demand is that the university divest from any investments linked to Israel.
These protests will mark the first significant campus demonstrations since last spring when similar groups camped out to protest Israeli military actions against Palestinian civilians.
