The search for missing Clark County resident Cassandra Ayon has come to a tragic end.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice confirmed yesterday that Ayon’s remains were found in Marathon County, near the Town of Brighton.
Ayon disappeared in 2020, and in 2022, her boyfriend, Jesus Contreras-Perez, was convicted of her murder and sentenced to life in prison.
Clark County’s District Attorney expressed hope that the discovery of Ayon’s remains will bring some closure to her family.
Details on the cause of her death and how investigators located her remains are still unavailable.
