Manitowoc United Hockey fell to Appleton United in their first road game 3-1.
Appleton took a handful of penalties in the first period and managed to squeeze a rebound goal past senior goalie Dan Karlin.
Despite the game not going in Manitowoc’s favor, the team buckled down and finished out the first period 1 to nothing.
The second period was no different, with penalties, an Appleton goal, and grit. Going into the final frame of the game, Manitowoc was down 2-0 when DeAngalo Flores caught Appleton’s goalie out of position to put United on the board.
Appleton answered right back with a goal to end the game with a final score of 3-1.
United will return home to take on the Shawano Ice Hawks this Saturday (December 7th) at 5:30 p.m.
