It was another successful year for a New Holstein toy drive honoring a former police officer.
The group, In Memory of Officer Macullen Michael Schnell, announced that 916 toys were donated to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee in honor of the fallen officer.
Schnell was diagnosed with grey zone lymphoma, a rare form of cancer, and passed away in 2021 on Christmas Day.
He was only 23. Schnell loved to help in the annual Shop with a Cop event in New Holstein.
The Facebook group thanked the community for their donations to the toy drive.
They also thanked the City of Kiel and others for spreading the word.
