The teenager charged with the murder of Lily Peters is scheduled to appear in court today.
The suspect, identified only as C.P.-B., has been in custody since his arrest in April 2022.
This will be his first appearance in adult court. Prosecutors allege that C.P.-B. beat, strangled, and raped Peters while she was walking home.
The case has faced delays as both sides debated whether he should be tried as an adult.
That decision was made in February, but a trial is still months away.
The judge has indicated the trial could start in April, marking three years since Peters’ tragic death.
