Aurora Medical Center- Manitowoc County recently held an open house for a Surgical Services construction project that includes replacing and expanding the Sterile Processing Department.
It includes two new operating rooms, upgrades to staff lounges, a new women’s locker room, and an additional anesthesia recovery area.

The hospital also celebrated the arrival of a new DaVinci robot, which allow for more advanced procedures to be performed.
Aurora Medical General Surgeon Dr. James Clancy said his first surgery with the machine was a gall bladder removal.
He said, “Being able to perform more advanced minimally invasive procedures will benefit our patients as the recovery time tends to be quicker and they experience less pain.”
