Trial dates have been set for the man accused in the Green Bay Correctional Institution murder earlier this year.
Jackson Vogel, who has been charged with First Degree Intentional Homicide with a hate crime modifier, will stand trial after allegedly strangling his cellmate, 19-year-old Micah Laureano, because of his race and sexuality.
Vogel has pleaded not guilty to the crime because of a mental disease or defect.
An evidentiary hearing on January 7th will take place before a five-day jury trial being held from January 27th through the 31st.
At the time of Laureano’s death, Vogel was in prison for Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide after trying to murder his mother in Manitowoc County.
