This week, President Biden granted pardons or sentence commutations to eight individuals from Wisconsin, including two convicted drug dealers.
Biden issued pardons or sentence reductions for a total of 1,500 people nationwide.
In Wisconsin, two received pardons, and six had their sentences commuted.
Among those affected are dealers of heroin and meth, as well as a woman from Green Bay convicted of defrauding elderly investors and a man from Sheboygan involved in a rare coin scam.
Biden’s office explained that those who had their sentences reduced were serving lengthy prison terms, many of which would be shorter if prosecuted under current laws.
