A fire in Two Rivers caused more than $100,000 in damages over the weekend.
Two Rivers Fire Chief Dave Murack says crews were called to a two-family home in the 1900 block of East Rivers Street yesterday morning (December 15th) just after 3:00 am.
When they arrived, they found that both families had already exited. Smoke inhalation and some minor injuries were reported by some upstairs, but they refused treatment at the scene.
Heavy smoke was found on the home’s second floor and was put out quickly by firefighters.
Most of the heavy fire and smoke damage was caused to the home’s second floor, while the first floor also sustained smoke and water damage.
Two Rivers firefighters remind residents that working smoke detectors are essential to know if there’s a fire.
Three other fire departments were called to help Two Rivers, including Manitowoc, Mishicot, Two Creeks, and Francis Creek.
