Wisconsin’s Sixth District Congressman says he was proud to vote for a bipartisan piece of legislation to help support veterans.
Congressman Glenn Grothman says the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act will strengthen the national defense and counter growing threats from foreign adversaries, including China, Russia, and Iran.
He also says it delivers victories that enhance military readiness, improve servicemembers’ quality of life, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly.
In Wisconsin, it provides a 14.5% pay raise for junior enlisted members and a 4.5% pay raise for Wisconsin’s 13,900 servicemembers.
It also authorizes $3.8 million for a military construction project in the Badger state and expands programs to help Wisconsin military spouses find employment.
Childcare will also be expanded for the 1,000 children of military families.
Grothman finished by saying, “This bill represents a significant step forward in safeguarding our nation and honoring the sacrifices of those who protect it.”
The bill passed the US House and will now go to the US Senate for a vote.
