Sheboygan residents could be paying more in the future for recycling and garbage collection.
On the schedule for the Sheboygan Common Council meeting tonight (December 16th) is a proposed resolution to increase recycling and garbage fees.
Currently, residents in the City of Sheboygan pay $4.00 a month for recycling services and $5.00 a month for garbage collection services.
The resolution, brought forward by Alders Trey Mitchell and Grazia Perrella, would increase fees to $4.35 and $5.65 a month, respectively.
City staff have attributed the need for this increase to economic conditions, which have resulted in higher operating costs.
If approved by the Sheboygan Common Council, these fee increases for recycling and garbage fees would take effect on January 1st.
