Ruth Ann (Sladky) Bukowski, age 83, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at River’s Bend Health Services.
Ruth was born on December 21, 1940 in Manitowoc to the late Alvin and Ursula (Meyer) Sladky. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1959. On May 29, 1981, Ruth married Robert Bukowski at St. Paul Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2005. Ruth had been employed at Wisconsin Fuel and Light, Hamilton Industries, Manitowoc Public Services and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, puzzles, and was a gifted seamstress. Ruth also had a passion of scratching off lottery tickets in hopes of winning big. Above all, she loved her nieces and nephews, and was a big part of their lives.
Survivors include Ruth’s brother, George (Pat) Sladky; sister, Mary Wozney; and nieces and nephews: Beth Sladky, Gayle (Dale) Cayemberg, Jason (Tami) Sladky, Jennifer (Richard)
McDonnell, Courtney (Thomas Nate) Sladky, Alec (Dana) Sladky, Carly (Tanner) Shillcox, Caitlyn (Eric) Fogltanz, Claire (DJ Madson) Cayemberg, Emily Sladky, Andrew Sladky, Geoffery McDonnell, Michael (Pennie) Sladky, Sara Sladky, Rhett Sladky and Emryn Shillcox; also other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Ursula Sladky; husband, Robert; and her very special nephew whom she missed so dearly, Tracy Sladky.
