Wisconsin’s Democratic lawmakers are joining Governor Tony Evers in opposing President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to deport undocumented immigrants.
Assembly Democratic leader Greta Neubauer expressed her commitment to “UpFront” to resist the deportation of criminal illegal immigrants, stating that it is unjust to remove individuals who have been long-standing members of the community.
While Neubauer will have more support from fellow Democrats in the upcoming legislative session, she acknowledged the challenge of overcoming the Republican majority.
She also noted that while cooperation with Republicans is possible, there are stark differences in priorities between the two parties.
