A woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole from a Manitowoc restaurant’s tip jar and fled from police.
Officers were called to KFC on Dewey Street at around 4:00 Friday evening (December 13th) on a report of a disturbance.
The restaurant’s assistant manager reported that a woman had yelled at her before taking money from the tip jar and fleeing. Responding officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on 42nd Street.
However, the driver sped off, was involved in a crash, and fled the scene.
The suspect vehicle was later located at a home in the 1100 block of South 24th Street.
While the 48-year-old woman tried to pull away from the officers and spit at one of them.
She also reportedly kicked an officer while being placed into the squad car.
She is facing charges of Fleeing/Eluding an Officer, 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting an Officer, Discharging Bodily Fluids at a Public Safety Worker, and Hit and Run in a Vehicle.
