Madison’s police chief has emphasized that identifying the motive behind Monday’s fatal shooting at the Abundant Life School is a key priority.
However, Chief Shon Barnes stated on Tuesday that no new information regarding the motive has emerged yet.
He suspects that a mix of factors likely led 15-year-old Natalie “Samantha” Rupnow to bring a firearm to school and open fire.
Chief Barnes also chose not to comment on the manifesto attributed to Rupnow, which reportedly includes violent thoughts and deep resentment toward various groups.
He urged anyone who may have interacted with Rupnow, either in person or online, to come forward and assist investigators.
