A Port Washington woman was arrested early this morning after she fled from Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputies and caused a crash that injured two people.
Sheriff Dan Hartwig tells SeehaferNews.com that deputies were dispatched to a residence on Highway 151 at 5:15 this morning (December 18th) on a report of a home entry and a vehicle in the ditch.
Shortly after the call, a transit van was stolen from a nearby residence on Highway S.
The stolen van was located shortly after on Highway S north of Highway 151, and deputies attempted to pull it over.
However, the 39-year-old Port Washington woman behind the wheel disregarded the order and continued to flee.
The chase ended when the woman collided with another vehicle that was traveling east on Highway 10, just east of Hickory Hills Road.
The 25-year-old male driver and a 19-year-old female passenger, each from Manitowoc County, were taken to a local hospital via ambulance, while the Port Washington woman was arrested on charges of Knowingly Fleeing an Officer, Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent, Recklessly Endangering Safety, Hit and Run Causing Injury, and Resisting Arrest.
The names of those involved have not yet been released.
