There are only a couple of days left to donate items of need to the Seehafer Broadcasting Sharing Tree.
The recipient this year is The Haven Men’s Homeless Shelter, which is still going through a transition.
Former Executive Director Micheal Etheridge recently departed the organization for a new opportunity, and Alex Hunt took over the role.
Hunt admits he was a bit hesitant to take the job at first, but he says the transition has gone rather smoothly.
“The staff is fantastic. I get along with everybody so well,” he told SeehaferNews.com. “I know a lot of the guests, you know, a lot of the guys that we’re dealing with. I know from my previous job in the recovery community, I don’t feel overly stressed. I feel like we have a lot of support from the community and from my board of directors are all fantastic.”
Hunt ensures the public that The Haven lives by its motto of being “More Than a Roof.”
“When people find themselves in the situation where they’re experiencing homelessness, there’s a myriad of factors that can play into it. I could talk about it all day,” Hunt said. “We have a full time case manager that’s meeting with these guys every week to get an idea of where they’re at and what’s going on. And we try to provide resources and get them connected to what can help address all those root causes.”
The majority of the items The Haven needs are basic hygiene items, as well as cleaning and office supplies.

Any donations, including monetary ones, can be dropped off at the Seehafer Broadcasting Studios, located at 3730 Mangin Street in Manitowoc, by the end of the business day this Friday (December 20th).
