A farm in Casco has been named a recipient in the latest round of funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Generate MVR WWT Holdings, which owns the farm, is set to receive $12,864,200 in the form of a Rural Investment from the USDA.
This will be split between two farms, one in Casco and another in Indiana.
The investment will aid in equipment expansion to improve operations at the farm, which processes liquid manure into liquid ammonium and organic dry fertilizer.
With the expansion, it is estimated the farm will produce 67,300 tons of dry fertilizer and 8.2 million gallons of liquid ammonium while providing fertilizer to over 28,000 acres of farmland.
This is a part of more than $116 million being invested by the USDA to strengthen American Farms by increasing competition and lowering costs.
