It was another successful year for the Manitowoc Police Department’s Shop with a Cop event.
The department announced that 33 children participated, representing 27 families.
46 volunteers representing local law enforcement agencies.
MPD says this year’s event started at the Silver Creek Field House, where kids and “Cops” were given a ride to Walmart to shop for their families.
After shopping, they boarded the bus again to return to the field house and were treated to pizza, snacks, and ice cream. Kids then got to wrap their presents before a visit with Santa.
Each year, police departments participate in Shop with a Cop to help families who might need assistance to have a special Christmas during the holiday season.
The program is funded annually through donations, goods, and services.
