The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding anglers about the end of the musky season.
The 2024 open-water musky fishing season is set to close across the state on December 31st.
The DNR would also like to remind fishers that musky are not to be targeted through the ice at any time.
In Wisconsin, approximately 775 lakes and streams have musky populations that are thriving.
Many waters, statewide, also have 50-inch minimum lengths, however, anglers are asked to consult the DNR’s fishing regulations webpage for more information on specific regulations on particular bodies of water.
Those interested are also encouraged to research to find trophy-class musky opportunities in their area.
The Wisconsin musky fishing season will again open on May 3rd of next year for the southern zone and on May 24th in the northern zone.
