The City of Sheboygan is celebrating 10 years of environmental sustainability and awareness.
For the past 10 years, Sheboygan has participated in the DNR’s Green Tier Legacy Communities Charter and was recently recognized for its efforts.
In October, at the Green Tier Connections event in Milwaukee, the city was presented with a plaque to commemorate the past decade of work adopting sustainable, environmentally responsible practices.
The city’s work has been highlighted by renewable energy projects, water quality protection, and providing educational resources for residents.
After the recognition, Mayor Ryan Sorenson said, “This recognition reflects our collective efforts to improve environmental practices, from renewable energy installations to enhancing water quality.”
The City of Sheboygan has also stated it has plans to further its work in reducing its environmental footprint, increasing community engagement, and setting new goals for environmental stewardship.
