A total of 86 cadets from 32 Wisconsin counties will be graduating from the Wisconsin National Guard Challenge Academy this weekend.
The graduates will be honored at noon today (December 21st) at Necedah High School.
The voluntary Challenge Academy is a cost-free alternative education program that reshapes the lives of 16 to 18-year-olds at risk of not graduating from high school.
It uses a structured, military-style environment and state-certified teachers and counselors to build cadets’ academic abilities, character, self-confidence, and personal discipline.
The National Guard Youth Challenge Program currently operates 37 programs in 29 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.
Nationwide, more than 215,843 teens have graduated.
