A man is facing charges after he allegedly attacked a woman and a child.
Manitowoc Police were dispatched to a residence over the weekend on a report of a physical incident.
The police report is heavily redacted, but it was stated that a 22-year-old man had struck and strangled either a woman with whom he had a relationship and a child, whose age and relationship with the man were redacted.
The woman told police that he had come to the home to discuss their previous relationship but became angered and called her derogatory names.
Once the incident became physical, the woman threatened to call the police, but the suspect allegedly grabbed her phone and threw it against a wall.
The victims also told police they believed they were going to be killed in the incident. The suspect had fled the scene in the victim’s car by the time police arrived.
As of the filing of the police report, the man has yet to be taken into custody, but charges of Battery and Disorderly Conduct, each with Domestic Violence enhancers, Physical Abuse of a Child, Strangulation/Suffocation, Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent, and two counts each of Misdemeanor and Felony Bail Jumping have been filed.
