The next step for a new subdivision in Manitowoc is moving forward.
Last week, the common council approved the final plat for the Popp Subdivision on Manitowoc’s southside.
According to drawings, the fourth plat would be between Flambeau and Summit Streets and offer 18 lots for single-family homes.
Mayor Justin Nickels tells Seehafernews.com that a new road will also be installed and was approved earlier.
But the subdivision itself is significant.
“It’s great to see the local developers are putting a lot of effort into single-family homes as well,” he explained. “We’ve seen a lot of multi-family, but single-family homes are still absolutely needed in the community.”
Nickels also says sewer and water lines are already in place.
The road should start to be built sometime in 2025.
