On January 18th, the Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village will hold a Winter Weekend program packed with events and activities.
From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to explore the village’s historic buildings and participate in numerous winter activities, including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding.
The January Winter Weekend will emphasize coziness with activities such as bird bingo, a guided nature walk, tavern games with hot beverages, a read-a-thon at the Dress Shop featuring historical books, and exploring food traditions at the Sorenson House.
All activities are included in the general admission fee. Admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors (62+), $10 for children ages 4 to 17, and free for children under the age of 4.
MCHS members receive free admission.
Additionally, the event features a Silk Ribbon Embroidery workshop from noon to 3:00 p.m., part of the Create-Connect heritage skills series.
This workshop will introduce several stitches popular in the 1800s and demonstrate how basic stitches can become art with silk ribbon.
The workshop fee includes general admission for the day, and advanced registration is required.
There will be more Winter Weekends held on February 15th (Victorian era romance) and on March 15th (fiber arts).
