A local cheese spread company is getting grant money from the Dairy Business Innovation Alliance (DBIA).
Pine River Pre-Pack Inc. is getting a share of $3.5 million in grants in order to upgrade its packing equipment to handle the increased demand for its cheese spreads.
The project aims to improve production efficiency and meet customer delivery expectations.
Pine River is one of 44 other applicants selected for the grant money.
Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association Director John Umhoefer says, “From product development and innovative plant efficiencies to new export initiatives, these projects funded by the DBIA impact not only the recipients but the entire industry.”
