Sheboygan is moving on from a company following poor performance in lead service line replacements.
Earlier this month, at a Board of Waterworks Commissioners meeting, the group voted unanimously to cut ties with Essential Sewer and Water.
The company had been responsible for lead service line replacement projects at Dillingham Avenue and spot locations around the city.
However, the city has stated that a failure to provide proper documentation, non-responsive proposals, and extended completion times led to the unanimous vote.
Other issues raised by the city included scheduling difficulties, clogged meters due to lack of flushing new lines, and lack of communication also led to their decision.
The City of Sheboygan said this move is already effective, and Essential Sewer and Water will be able to reapply for consideration on such projects after a two-year period.
