The woman charged in a multi-county deer poaching scheme is awaiting the appointment of a public defender.
Court documents show that 36-year-old Jessica Kroening was present for a hearing yesterday (December 30th) inside a Washington County courtroom.
At the hearing, it was revealed that Kroening was financially unable to retain her legal counsel and thus had to have a court-appointed public defender.
The 36-year-old’s hearing has now been pushed back to February 12th to give the court time to select her public defender.
Kroening and three teens were arrested and charged in October for the deer poaching scheme that spanned multiple counties.
It is alleged that the four individuals are responsible for the poaching of over 100 deer.
The three juveniles involved are facing charges in Fond du Lac County.
