Fond du Lac Police are investigating a shots fired complaint on New Year’s Eve.
The incident happened on South Brooke Street and Western Avenue just after 11:45 p.m.
The 911 caller described seeing several vehicles in the roadway and believed that shots were fired from at least one vehicle in the direction of another.
Although the vehicles fled before police arrived, officers found evidence that a shooting happened between some people in two cars and found video footage of the incident.
Possible bullet holes were also found in a nearby residence; however, no one was injured, and no other property damage was reported.
Fond du Lac Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says his department is fully committed to ensuring the community’s safety and will not tolerate individuals who choose to put others at risk with their reckless and senseless criminal behavior.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call the Fond du Lac County Communications Center at 920-906-5555 or the Crime Alert line at 920-322-3740.
