Milwaukee has experienced a decline in homicides for the second straight year, according to preliminary figures from the Milwaukee Police Department for 2024.
The number of homicides dropped by nearly 25%, from 172 in 2023 to 131 in 2024.
The data also revealed a rise in carjackings, which increased by 11%, while non-fatal shootings saw a decrease of approximately 25%.
