An esteemed faculty member at Lakeland University after a nearly four-decade career.
Patty Taylor, Lakeland’s Senior Director for Financial Aid and Educational Funding, retired last month following 38 years of service to the university.
During her time at the college, Taylor worked closely with students and families to create financial aid packages that allowed students to realize their goals and dreams.
However, Taylor’s work was not exclusive to just the school’s campus.
In 2019, she provided testimony at state legislative hearings in support of Senate Bill 537, which provided veterans with private school funding.
She was also critical in the passing of the Financial Aid Modernization Act in 2023.
On her retirement, Taylor said, “I just always loved what I did. It’s easy to go in every day when you love what you do and believe in the place. I just never left.”
Taylor, a native of Howards Grove, graduated from Lakeland in 1987 and accepted a position in the admissions department before completing her last final exam.
