Many were on hand for an annual New Year’s Day tradition in the City of Sheboygan.
Wednesday (January 1st) marked the 55th annual Polar Bear Plunge at Deland Park’s North Beach.
The Polar Bear Plunge invites those brave enough to take the plunge into the waters of Lake Michigan to ring in the New Year.
This year, 398 individuals braved the water to take the plunge with nearly 1,000 people in attendance to watch.
For the plunge, the air temperature was 29 degrees with a windchill of 22, while the waters of Lake Michigan were a chilly 34 degrees.
