The Manitowoc man accused of stealing nearly $7,000 from his elderly father is free on bond.
48-year-old Jeremy L. Ruelle was given a $5,000 recognizance bond on charges of Felony Theft and Felony Bail Jumping.
Police began investigating after Ruelle’s sister told them that he had taken their father’s wallet from his home as they moved him into an assisted living facility.
Ruelle allegedly spent over $6,800 at places like Kwik Trip, Wal-Mart, and Piggly Wiggly while also withdrawing cash from numerous ATMs.
As a part of his bond, Ruelle was ordered to have no contact with his father, his current residence, or his former residence, and he was ordered not to use any of the victim’s personal ID info or anything that can access their assets, including using personal financial information.
Ruelle is due back in court on Tuesday, January 21st, for his initial appearance.
