Alfred “Al” E. Kiel, age 79 of Whitelaw, passed away on Sunday evening, January 5, 2025 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah.
Al was born on April 5, 1945 in Manitowoc, the son of the late Arthur and Evelyn (Damman) Kiel. He was a 1963 graduate of Valders High School and married the former Lois Konop on October 6th, 1967, at St. Michael’s Church in Whitelaw. Al worked at Manitowoc Engineering for 39 years and following his retirement drove milk truck for R&S Trucking and Mark Ebert Trucking for an additional 15 years.
As Whitelaw Village President for 25 years, a member of St. Michael Catholic Church for 55 years (minister of hospitality, Eucharistic minister, parish council member, Community Fest chairperson for 13 years), and a girls basketball coach for over 30 years, Al’s generosity, compassion, and wisdom touched the lives of many. However, it was the relationships and life lessons from his many years of service to others that he valued and cherished the most. He was a man who led by example and exemplified the meaning of humility and living a life of servitude to others. He will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.
