A business and two farms in Kewaunee County will be benefiting from a USDA program.
The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) will be giving out nearly $180 million for 586 clean energy projects throughout the U.S.
Quali T Screening Inc. will get $29,965 to install a roof-mount solar electric array.
It will replace over 24,000 kilowatt-hours of the company’s energy use.
Lazy J Dairy Farms LLC will also get its own solar electric array.
The USDA is giving $224,227 toward that project. Another farm in Algoma is getting $113,508 for two solar arrays.
Rosewood Dairy will save about $18,419 through the project.
Other states will get projects geared toward domestic biofuels.
According to the USDA, more than $1.3 billion from the Inflation Reduction Act has been given to over 8,000 clean energy projects through REAP.
