There are two meetings on tap for today (January 13th) in the City of Manitowoc.
Up first is the Committee of Aging, which will meet in the Senior Center at 1:30 p.m.
Then, at 5:30 p.m., the Public Safety Committee will convene in the Council Chambers in City Hall.
After hearing comments from the public, the group will discuss several items, including the potential installation of a flashing pedestrian crossing sign at the corner of South 14th and Dewey Streets.
They will also review a sex offender residency board appeal and a dangerous prohibited animal objection submitted by a resident.
A dog owned by the resident was deemed a “prohibited dangerous animal” by the city after it was involved in a biting incident.
However, the dog’s owner submitted a letter from a veterinarian, who described the animal in question as “not an aggressive dog, just defensive of her space” while also noting that her owner has taken steps to make sure it would never happen again.
More details on that case can be found at Manitowoc.org by clicking on the attached documents in the meeting agenda.
