A former Racine pastor who was residing in the U.S. unlawfully and convicted of sexual abuse-related charges has been sentenced to 11 years in prison.
On Monday, a judge handed down the sentence to Bernabe Leon-Alvarez, who was found guilty of attempted sexual exploitation by a therapist and child enticement.
He was accused of repeatedly and inappropriately touching two females, aged 14 and 18 at the time.
The charges stemmed from an incident reported in 2023.
Leon-Alvarez is currently being held in immigration custody.
