Nancy J. Orth, age 81, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc.
Nancy, a devoted wife and mother, was born April 3, 1943 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marcella (Walters) Tadych. Nancy attended Lincoln High School and on September 24, 1960, she married Gary Orth at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow up, and especially enjoyed watching their sporting events and other activities. Nancy’s hobbies included sewing, baking, fishing, and spending time with her sisters.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 64 years: Gary Orth; six children: Dean Orth (fiancé Karen), Debbie Duane, Michael Orth, Steve (Keitha) Orth, Jacob (Bonnie) Orth, and Becky (Joey) Putman; grandchildren: Matthew Prince, Justin (Missy) Prince, Tanner Orth, Daniel Duane, Nikki (Tom) Gray, Amanda (Ryan) Brandon, Katy (Evan) Bluma, Alex Orth, Sean Orth, Stefanie Orth, Jackson Putman, Natalie Putman, Meredith Putman, and Mikey Putman; bonus grandchildren: Bryan and Dawn; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Margaret Shaw, Germaine Hinze Miles, Ann Murray, James (Judie) Tadych, and Joseph Tadych; one brother-in-law: Roger Oswald ; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bob Orth, Dick (Mary) Orth, Jan (Nancy) Orth, Peggy Thor, and Nancy (Wayne) Doney; as well as a special family friend, Debra Sukowaty. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Marcella Tadych; an infant son: Gary Orth Jr.; six siblings: Janet (Wallace) Haske, John “Jack” Tadych, Shirley (Albert) Reinke, Marion (Robert) Lindholm, Lorraine Oswald, and Thomas Tadych; three brothers-in-law: Thomas Murray, Bob Hinze, and Malcolm Shaw; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Herb and Grace Orth; brother-in-law: Michael Thor; sister-in-law: Mary Orth; and other relatives and friends.
Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton, WI. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Pleier.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton.
