A man in Appleton has pled not guilty to robbing a bank.
63-year-old Martin L. Schiedermayer was present in an Outagamie County courtroom yesterday (January 29th) for his arraignment where he pled not guilty to Robbery of a Financial Institution, the lone charge he is facing.
Schiedermayer was arrested earlier this month by police in Appleton after responding to a bank in the 100 block of South State Street.
Witnesses and employees at the bank told officers a man had entered the establishment, demanded money, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Thanks to detailed descriptions of the bank robber and his vehicle, police located the 63-year-old minutes later and took him into custody.
Court records show that this is Schiedermayer’s second instance of robbery, having been found guilty of Robbery with the Threat of Force in 2011.
FOX11 reports that in 2011 and earlier this month, Schiedermayer was arrested for robbing the same bank twice.
He will be back in court on February 21st for a status conference.
