A local fire department is looking to get some new equipment.
On Sunday, March 16th, the Denmark Volunteer Fire Department will host a drive-thru food stand with chicken booyah, brats, and burgers, with money raised going toward the purchase of a new Thermal Imaging Camera.
Food will be served starting at 11:00, and a raffle drawing will be held at 2:00, with the grand prize being $1,000.
Firefighter Thad Tremble tells SeehaferNews.com that the DVFD is “continually working to upgrade the tools and equipment we use to help serve our local community.”
He noted that their location makes them available to help with fires in Brown, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc Counties.
The camera the Department is looking to get would help firefighters “see” through the smoke when crews are searching for people who may be trapped inside a structure fire.
It can also be used in a wide array of other types of calls, making it a vital piece of equipment.
