A local business is trying to help get dentistry services to those who have trouble getting around.
Kathy Rezba, the founder and CEO of Hygiea Mobile Dentistry, was recently on the Hello Lakeshore Podcast, where she explained that Hygiea is the Greek goddess of health, cleanliness, and sanitation.
That is part of the reason Rezba chose the name for her dentistry.
Hygiea is a non-profit organization that aims to bring dental care to those who cannot go to the dentist’s office.
On the show, Rezba noted that oral health is much more than what’s just inside the mouth.
“Our oral health is related to our overall health,” she explained. “So any time you have any issues with your teeth, it can negatively affect other systems in our bodies.”
The Dentistry being mobile means quite a loaded setup, which Rezba describes as “a mobile unit on wheels. It looks like a suitcase. I’m able to pack everything up and bring it right to the facility.”
