First responders in Sheboygan have been commended for their life-saving work.
The Sheboygan Fire Department was honored last week by Auroa Regional EMS after saving a person’s life who was experiencing a stroke.
Sheboygan’s EMS worker’s actions led to an “amazing outcome” for their patient experiencing a stroke, according to Aurora Regional EMS.
These crews were presented with brain pins to recognize their efforts that reduced the time of the stroke and saved the brain tissue of their patient.
They were also presented with challenge coins by Aurora’s Dr McGlynn for their actions.
Along with the award, a reminder was given to the public to educate themselves on the signs of a stroke, including vision changes, drooping face, and arm weakness, amongst other symptoms.
