Manitowoc Public School’s next superintendent will be found with help from a school board association.
The school board voted unanimously to sign a contract with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards for $13,500.
WASB Consultant Patti Vickman will work with the school board through the process of making sure their applications are up to date, putting advertisements out, and finding candidates.
She gave a presentation explaining that a planning meeting will happen first to talk to them about what they want to happen.
She says WASB isn’t there to choose for them, but just to help along in the process.
Board Member Tony Vlastelica said he was very pleased with WASB but wants the process of picking someone done before their final meeting as a current board.
The next superintendent could be picked sometime in April, and would officially start in July.
Interim Superintendent Lee Thennes was picked to serve as the district’s leader after Jim Feil agreed to resign.
