A man wanted by the U.S. Marshals has been apprehended in Fond du Lac.
The Fond du Lac Police Department was called to North Butler Avenue yesterday (January 30th) just after 11:45 p.m. after a female victim claimed a man had pointed a gun at her face.
The initial call also reported that the armed suspect was in the residence with five children ranging from newborn to 13 years old.
Arriving officers set up a perimeter, activating the department’s SWAT team, a K9 team, and a drone team, along with the Sheriff’s Office SWAT team.
The suspect, a 31-year-old male from Chicago, attempted to escape the scene by calling an Uber.
Before he was able to escape, the Fond du Lac Police arrested him without incident.
After his arrest, authorities learned that the Chicago man was also wanted by U.S. Marshals on a federal parole warrant for possession of a machine gun and dangerous drugs.
Officers were then able to enter the home and confirmed that the female victim and her children were physically unharmed.
The 31-year-old is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on his federal parole warrant, and additional charges stemming from this incident are being referred to the County District Attorney’s Office.
