A student at Plymouth’s Horizon Elementary School has raised thousands of dollars to help fight heart disease and strokes in America.
As of this week, fourth-grade student Abel Fouts has raised $4,018 for this year’s American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge.
Abel’s fundraising efforts have already surpassed the entire school’s fundraising goal for the event which is scheduled to run from February 1st through March 7th.
Abel is no stranger to impressive fundraising efforts for the Kids Heart Challenge, having raised $1,184 in 2022, $1,150 in 2023, and $1,350 in 2023, putting his total at over $7,700.
The fourth grader has said he is so passionate about this effort because he likes helping people and will continue to do so on Saturday (February 1st) at Sheboygan’s Southside Piggly Wiggly from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Jackie Weir, development director of school engagement for the American Heart Association said, “Abel has been passionate about this event and raising donations to help others.”
She continued to say, “I hope more students get involved in the program.”
