Sheboygan County has partnered with a University of Wisconsin group to help support community initiatives.
The UniverCity Alliance has extended its partnership with four additional counties in the state, including Sheboygan County, to address challenges involving outdoor recreation and public health resources.
The UniverCity Alliance is an international network of colleges and universities that partner with local municipalities that aim to connect these communities with the tools and resources to meet certain needs.
In Sheboygan County, this partnership will focus on addressing infrastructure, recreational spaces, and social services.
Initial beneficiaries of the UniverCity partnership will include the County’s Planning and Conservation Department, Sheriff’s Office, Health and Human Services, and more.
County Administrator Alayne Krause has said, “I am excited to see the innovative ideas that the next generation of the workforce develops.”
Additional new partners to join Sheboygan County will be Racine, Trempealeau, and Monroe Counties, along with the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Association.
