Frank E. Freidenberger, age 70, of Manitowoc, died Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan Falls.
Frank was born April 3, 1954 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He was the son of the late Charles and Maryann (Polifka) Freidenberger. Frank was a graduate of Reedsville High School with the class of 1973. He then enlisted in the United States Navy, training at the Great Lake Naval Base. He served overseas for 2 years as a Gunner’s Mate during the end of the evacuation of the Vietnam War. When Frank returned to the states, he was stationed in San Diego. After his honorable discharge Frank was employed with Brillion Iron Works and Federal Mogul until his retirement on March 2, 2018. On November 24, 1978, Frank married Diane Kratz in Chilton. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2014. Frank was an avid fisherman and enjoyed riding his Harley and playing with his granddogs.
He is survived by two daughters: Catherine McDaniel and significant other Mark Mommaerts, De Pere, WI; Amanda (Katherym) Feo, Manitowoc, WI; three grandchildren: Emmanuel, Annah, and Gary, Manitowoc, WI; two brothers: Harlan Freidenberger, James (Shirley) Freidenberger; five sisters: Carol Mott, Emily Rataichek, Mary Jo Sturm, Elaine Riederer, Jeanette Junk; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Diane Freidenberger; his parents: Charles and Maryann Freidenberger; four brothers-in-law: Arnold Mott, Cletus Rataichek, Chuck Riederer, Al Junk; and a niece and nephew: Eric Freidenberger and Arlene Mott.
Private family services will be held. Frank will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum next to Diane.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for the compassionate care given to Frank. They would also like to thank all the friends and family who have supported them throughout Frank’s journey.
