Marion M. Lenz, 97, of School Hill died peacefully on Wednesday afternoon February 5, 2025 at her home. She was born on January 28, 1928 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Baugniet) Bonde. She was raised on the Bonde Homestead in the Town of Meeme. Marion attended grade school in School Hill. After her mother passed at a young age, she spent much of her teenage years helping to raise her brothers and sisters.
On June 11, 1949 she was united in marriage to Robert Lenz in School Hill. Together they owned and operated Lenz Trucking with Marion taking care of the office and book work. In 1968 she acquired her real estate license and began running L Realty. In future years she added the Auction Services and continued to work in both until she was in her eighties. Bob preceded her in death on February 17, 1998.
Marion was a charter member of and active with Wagner-Eberle-Sukowaty American Legion Auxiliary Unit 477 for 72 years. She was also an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Woman and served on many committees. Marion was a passionate card player, especially sheephead, belonging to several card groups. She also enjoyed a good game of cribbage
Survivors include her four sons; Gerald “Jerry” (Peggy) Lenz of Pigeon Lake, Thomas “Tommy” (Debby) Lenz of Newton, Ronald “Ronnie” Lenz of School Hill, James “Jimmy” Lenz of School Hill, four grandchildren; Jon (Naomi) Lenz, Brandy (Bob) Wallander, Tim Lenz, Bonnie (Jason) van Gorkom, eight great grandchildren; Michael, Peyton and Haleigh Wallander, Brayden, Parker and Jordyn Lenz, Alyssa and Dylan van Gorkom, brother; Donald Bonde, sister-in-law; Betty Bonde along with numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Robert, great grandson; Colton Lenz, father-in-law and mother-in-law; Herbert and Nora (Paul) Lenz, 7 brothers; Norbert (Marie) Bonde, Bernard Bonde, Theodore (Virginette) Bonde, Alex (Rita) Bonde, Odilo (Paulene) Bonde, Frederick (Katherine) Bonde, Roman Bonde, 6 sisters; Margaret Bonde, Loretta (Elmer) Koenig, Frances (Wilbert) Hutchison, Irene (Alfred) Stein, Rose Bonde, Marcella Bonde.
Funeral Mass for Marion will be held on Thursday February 13, 2025 at 11:30am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (11928 Marken Rd, Kiel “School Hill”) A time of visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00am until 11:00am. Burial will take place in the Ucker Point Cemetery, Town of Schleswig.
Marion’s family would like to thank her live-in care giver Angie Reagan for the compassion and care shown to Marion the last year. They would also like to thank Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for keeping her comfortable in her last days.
