Progress continues on a new trail project in Manitowoc.
An update from Mayor Justin Nickels explains that the bridge over the Little Manitowoc River is being installed this week and a new asphalt trail will be laid this spring.
$369,400 for the project comes from the State of Wisconsin Knowles-Nelson Stewardship program, to which the West Foundation added another $100,000.
The remainder of a TIF District will support the development of the remaining site. The entire project also includes a kayaking launch and the bridge connecting the Mariners Trail to the Lincoln Park Zoo.
The project is expected to be finished this spring.
