A teacher in Howards Grove has been honored by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
Makayla Malone, an Agricultural Teacher at Howards Grove High School, has been selected by the DPI as one of the top 56 Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors in the state.
Last month was recognized as CTE month, and the DPI highlighted the work of students in the field as well as teachers, such as Malone, who ensure students are positioned for career success.
Malone is a teacher who cares about her students and who designs engaging, interactive lessons.
As an agricultural teacher, her devotion goes past simply teaching as she advises her local FFA chapter, schedules weekly FFA events, and hosts local leadership group events.
Additionally, Malone serves on the School District of Howards Grove Leadership Team, fostering a cohesive culture amongst staff.
